Fran Brouillet - You are missed!

Fran passed to the other side on July 3, 2011 in the arms of her loving husband, Steve.
Fran and Steve met at a Halloween party in 1995.  It was love at first sight.  They have been together ever since.  Their immediate family unit was Fran, Steve and their two Bedlingtons, Colby and Shana.
Fran and Steve co-wrote her obituary, below.

Obituary

Frances Carusello Brouillet, loving wife and best friend, passed from this earth on July 3, 2011 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born July 21, 1951, in Miami, Florida, daughter of the late Frank and Annamay Carusello. She married her soul mate, Steve, and together they shared a beautiful life with their beloved Bedlington Terriers, Colby and Shana. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her brother, Donald Carusello and his wife, Barbara; her mother-in-law, Marlene Brouillet, and her sister-in-law, Debra Messier and her husband, Michael. She was met in heaven by her parents and father-in-law, the recently deceased William Brouillet. Fran earned her Master's Degree from the University of Connecticut and started her career as a social worker for the State of Connecticut. She quickly moved up to various positions helping people of all ages along the way. Fran dedicated her life to the commitment that "One is able to achieve great rewards and make a difference by working with the disabled population and their families within our communities." Her passion to help others led her to do community volunteer work after retirement. She was a member of the Colchester Garden Club, Community Wildlife Habitat of Colchester, and National Wildlife Federation. She also volunteered giving food and clothing to the homeless. Fran's love of her two pets led to being active in canine agility, Earthdog competition, conformation, rally obedience and therapy dog work. She and her dog, Colby, visited hospitals, nursing homes and a local daycare with special needs students spreading joy and happiness to those who met them. Fran's family would like to express heartfelt appreciation to her doctor, Susan Tannenbaum, and her staff, the UCONN Cancer Center and the staff at Masonicare Partners and Middlesex Hospice. They are also grateful for the generosity of Fran's friends and neighbors whose devotion to Fran, Steve, Colby and Shana shall be remembered always.
The funeral service will be officiated by Reverend Richard Fowler and Reverend Bob Faulhaber at the Congregational Church of Marlborough, 35 South Main St., Marlborough CT, on Thursday, July 14th at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the discretion of the family. There are no calling hours.

I met Fran and Steve only three years ago.  I remember being struck by her sweet nature and beautiful smile.  Now after reading her obituary, I see she was an angel on earth.

-
I met Fran at the Bedlington Terrier Specialty in Louisville.  She had her precious puppy in her arms and cared so much for her sweet little boy.  I enjoyed seeing Fran each year in Louisville and cheering her on.  I remember how much I enjoyed talking to her every year; she was such a nice and kind individual, she always with her dog’s best interests in mind.  I remember seeking her out and looking forward to seeing her each year.  I will really miss seeing Fran at the Specialty and had planned on having many more years to get to know each other better and run agility together.

I will miss you, but will cherish your memory.

 Fondly,

JoAnn Burtness
